and we are rich” (Qur’an 3:181); and for their statement, “He rested after creating the heavens and the earth.” In reply, Allah the Exalted says: “We have indeed created the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them in six days, and no fatigue touched Us” (Qur’an 50:38).

The Torah is filled with descriptions of the Divine that match those mentioned in the Qur’an and the Sunnah, yet it contains no explicit affirmation of the Resurrection such as that found in the Qur’an. If one were permitted to reinterpret the attributes on which both scriptures agree, then reinterpreting the Resurrection—asserted by only one of them—would be even more warranted. But denying the Resurrection is known with absolute certainty, from the very religion brought by the Messenger ﷺ, to be false; therefore, denying the attributes is even more clearly false.

[The Third Group: the People of Tajhīl]
The third category consists of the people of tajhīl, who claim that the meanings are unknowable. They are numerous among those who affiliate themselves with the Sunnah and with the Salaf. They maintain that the Messenger ﷺ did not know the meanings of the verses on the divine attributes that Allah revealed to him, nor did Gabriel know those meanings, nor did the earliest believers understand them.
