Ashrat al-Saah - al-WabilYusuf al-Wabil

the earth.” (1)

Adī ibn Hātim—may Allah be pleased with him—reported: While I was with the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—a man came to him and complained of poverty. Then another came and complained of highway robbery. He said, “O Adī, have you seen al-Hīra?” I replied, “I have not seen it, though I have heard about it.” He said, “If you live long enough, you will surely see a woman travel from al-Hīra until she circumambulates the Kaaba, fearing no one but Allah.” I thought to myself, “What, then, of the marauders (2) of Tayy who have thrown the land into turmoil?!” He continued, “If you live long enough, the treasures of Khosrow will surely be opened.” I asked, “Khosrow ibn Hormuz?!” He replied, “Khosrow ibn Hormuz. And if you live long enough, you will surely see a man bring out a handful of gold or silver, seeking someone to accept it from him, but he will find no one willing to accept it.…”

Adī said: I saw a woman travel from al-Hīra until she circumambulated the Kaaba, fearing no one but Allah; and I was among those who opened the treasures of Khosrow ibn Hormuz. If you live long enough, you will surely see what the Prophet Abū al-Qāsim—peace and blessings be upon him—foretold: a man will bring out a handful. (3)

Much of what the Truthful One—peace and blessings be upon him—foretold us has thus come to pass. Wealth became abundant during the time of the Companions—may Allah be pleased with them—because of the conquests, and they divided among themselves the wealth of the Persians
