5 — The Abundance of Wealth and Freedom from Need of Charity:

Abū Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—reported that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “The Hour will not come until wealth becomes so plentiful among you that it overflows, and the owner of wealth is troubled to find someone who will accept it from him as charity. When a man is offered some, he will say, ‘I have no need of it.’” (1)

Abū Mūsā—may Allah be pleased with him—reported that the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “A time will surely come upon the people when a man will go about offering gold in charity, yet will find no one to accept it from him.” (2)

He—peace and blessings be upon him—also informed us that Allah Most High will bestow bounty upon this nation and open up for it the treasures of the earth, and that its dominion will reach the eastern and western limits of the earth. In the hadith narrated by Thawbān—may Allah be pleased with him—the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “Allah drew the earth together for me (3), and I saw its eastern and western reaches. The dominion of my nation will extend over all that was drawn together for me, and I was given the two treasures, the red and the white.” (4)

He—peace and blessings be upon him—also said: “Indeed, I have been given the keys to the treasuries of the earth, or the keys to

(3) *Zuwiya*: The expression *zawaytuhu azwīhi zayyan* means “I gathered it together.” The meaning is that Allah gathered the earth for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and drew it near, so that he saw its eastern and western reaches. ٥ - استفاضة المال والاستغناء عن الصَّدقة: عن أبي هريرة ﵁ أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "لا تقومُ السّاعة حتّى يكثر فيكم المال، فيفيض، حتّى يُهِمَّ رَبَّ المالِ مَنْ يقبله منه صدقة، ويُدعى إليه الرَّجل، فيقول: لا أرب لي فيه" (١). وعن أبي موسى ﵁ عن النّبيّ ﷺ؛ قال: "ليأتِيَنَّ على الناسِ زمانٌ يطوف الرَّجلُ فيه بالصدقة من الذهب، ثمّ لا يجد أحدًا يأخذها منه" (٢). وأخبر ﷺ أن الله تعالى سيعطي هذه الأمة، ويفتح عليها من كنوز الأرض، وأن ملك أمته سيبلغ مشارق الأرض ومغاربها، ففي الحديث عن ثوبان ﵁ أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "إن الله زوى (٣) لي الأرض، فرأيتُ مشارقها ومغاربها، وإن أمَّتي سيبلغ ملكها ما زُوِيَ لي منها، وأُعطيتُ الكنزينِ الأحمر والأبيض" (٤). وقال ﷺ: "وإني قد أُعطيتُ مفاتيح خزائن الأرض، أو مفاتيح
