Ashrat al-Saah - al-WabilYusuf al-Wabil

He said, “They discussed the matter of the Hour and referred it to Abraham. He said, ‘I have no knowledge of it.’ They then referred the matter to Moses, who said, ‘I have no knowledge of it.’ They then referred the matter to Jesus, who said, ‘As for when it will occur, no one knows that except Allah. That is so. My Lord has, however, entrusted me with the knowledge that al-Dajjāl (the Antichrist) will emerge.’ He said, ‘I shall have two slender swords with me, and when he sees me, he will melt as lead melts.’ He said, ‘Then Allah will destroy him.’” (1)

Thus, these Messengers of Firm Resolve do not know when the Hour will come.

Imam Muslim narrated from Jābir ibn Abdullah—may Allah be pleased with them both—who said: I heard the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say one month before his death, “You ask me about the Hour? Knowledge of it rests with Allah alone. By Allah, I swear that no soul now living on earth will live for another hundred years.” (2)

This hadith rules out the possibility that the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—learned when the Hour would occur after Gabriel asked him about it.

Ibn Kathīr said, “Thus, this unlettered Prophet, the master of the messengers and their Seal—may Allah’s blessings

Al-Būsīrī said in *al-Zawāid*: “This chain of transmission is sound, and its narrators are trustworthy.” Al-Hākim’s *al-Mustadrak*, 4:488–489. He said: “This hadith has a sound chain of transmission, though neither of them recorded it.” Al-Dhahabī concurred with him. Al-Albānī classified it as weak in *Daīf al-Jāmi al-Saghīr*, 5:20–21, hadith no. 4712.
