Some of the hadiths indicating that the Smoke will appear at the end of time have already been mentioned. I shall cite here further hadiths indicating this:

Muslim narrated from Abū Hurayra—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “Hasten to perform righteous deeds before six things: the Dajjāl and the Smoke.” (1)
The Smoke is also mentioned in the hadith of Hudhayfa concerning the major portents of the Hour. (2)
Ibn Jarīr and al-Tabarānī narrated from Abū Mālik al-Asharī—may Allah be pleased with him—who said that the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “Your Lord has warned you of three things: the Smoke will afflict the believer like a cold, but it will afflict the unbeliever until he swells up and it pours out through his ears.” (3)

Ibn Kathīr said: “Its chain of transmission is sound.” Ibn Hajar cited al-Tabarī’s narrations from Abū Mālik and Ibn Umar, then said: “Their chains of transmission are extremely weak, but the convergence of these hadiths indicates that this has a basis.” See *Fath al-Bārī* (8/573).

مضى ذكر بعض الأحاديث الدَّالَّة على ظهور الدُّخان في آخر الزّمان، وسأذكر هنا مزيدًا من الأحاديث الدالَّة على ذلك: ١ - روى مسلم عن أبي هريرة ﵁ أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "بادِروا بالأعمال ستًّا: الدَّجَّال، والدُّخان" (١). ٢ - وجاء في حديث حذيفة في ذكر أشراط السّاعة الكبرى: "الدُّخان" (٢). ٣ - وروى ابن جرير والطبراني عن أبي مالك الأشعري ﵁؛ قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إن ربَّكم أنذركم ثلاثًا: الدُّخان يأخذ المؤمنَ كالزكمة، ويأخذ الكافر فينتفخ حتّى يخرج من كلّ مسمع منه" (٣). * * * * *
