What law will Jesus (peace be upon him) rule by?

Jesus (peace be upon him) will rule by the revealed law brought by Muhammad and will be one of Muhammad’s followers (peace and blessings be upon him). He will not descend with a new law, for Islam is the final religion and will remain until the coming of the Hour; it will not be abrogated. Jesus (peace be upon him) will therefore be one of the rulers of this nation and a reviver of the cause of Islam, since there is no prophet after Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Imam Muslim narrated from Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “What will your state be when the son of Mary descends among you and your imam is from among you?!”

I—the speaker being al-Walīd ibn Muslim—said (1) to Ibn Abī Dhi’b (2): “Al-Awzā’ī narrated to us from al-Zuhrī, from Nāfi’, from Abu Hurayra: ‘And your imam is from among you.’” Ibn Abī Dhi’b asked, “Do you know what ‘he will lead you from among yourselves’ means?” I replied, “Will you tell me?” He said, “He will lead you according to the Book of your Lord, Mighty and Majestic, and the sunnah of your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)” (3).

Jābir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “A group from my nation will continue fighting for the truth, prevailing until the Day

* بماذا يحكم عيسى ﵇-؟ يحكم عيسى ﵇ بالشريعة المحمَّدِيَّة، ويكون من أتباع محمَّد ﷺ، فإنّه لا ينزل بشرع جديد؛ لأنَّ دينَ الإسلام خاتمُ الأديان، وباقٍ إلى قيام السّاعة، لا ينسخ، فيكون عيسى ﵇ حاكمًا من حكام هذه الأمة، ومجدَّدًا لأمر الإسلام، إذ لا نبى بعد محمَّدٍ ﷺ. روى الإِمام مسلم عن أبي هريرة ﵁ أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: "كيف أنتم إذا نزل فيكم ابن مريم وإمامُكُم منكم؟! ". فقلتُ (القائل الوليد بن مسلم) (١) لابن أبي ذئب (٢): إن الأوزاعي حدّثنا عن الزّهريُّ عن نافع عن أبي هريرة: "وإمامكم منكم". قال ابن أبي ذئب: تدري ما أمَّكم منكم؟ قلت: تخبرني؟ قال: فأمَّكم بكتاب ربكم ﵎ وسنة نبيِّكم ﷺ (٣). وعن جابر بن عبد الله ﵁؛ قال: سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "لا تزال طائفةٌ من أمتي يقاتِلون على الحق، ظاهرين إلى يوم
