in the west, and one in the Arabian Peninsula; and the last of these will be a fire emerging from Yemen that will drive the people to their place of gathering” (1).
Muslim narrated this hadith from Hudhayfah ibn Usayd in another wording:
“The Hour will not come until ten signs have occurred: a landslide in the east, a landslide in the west, a landslide in the Arabian Peninsula, the Smoke, the False Messiah, the Beast of the earth, Gog and Magog, the rising of the sun from the west, and a fire emerging from the depths of Aden that will drive the people onward.”
In another narration: “The tenth is the descent of Jesus son of Mary” (2).
Thus, this is a single hadith from a single Companion, transmitted in two wordings that differ in the order of the signs.
2 — Muslim narrated from Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Hasten to perform good deeds before six things occur: the rising of the sun from the west, the Smoke, the False Messiah, the Beast, the death of one of you, or the Resurrection” (3).
Muslim also narrated this hadith from Abū Hurayrah in another wording:
“Hasten to perform good deeds before six things occur: the False Messiah, the Smoke, the Beast of the earth, the rising of the sun from the west, the Resurrection, and the death of one of you” (4).
