The hadith of Abdullāh ibn Amr states, as noted above, that this wind will arise from Syria.
Another hadith relates that Abū Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “Allah will send a wind from Yemen, softer than silk, which will leave no one with so much as an atom’s weight of faith in his heart without taking his soul” (1).
This may be reconciled in two ways:
1 — They may be two winds: one Syrian and the other Yemeni.
2 — It may originate in one of the two regions, then reach the other and spread through it.
Allah knows best (2).
57 — Violation of the Sacred House and Demolition of the Kaaba:
None but its own people will violate the sanctity of the Sacred House—and its own people are the Muslims (3). When they violate it, destruction will befall them. Then a man from Abyssinia known as Dhū al-Suwayqatayn (“the man with two slender legs”) will emerge. He will destroy the Kaaba, dismantling it stone by stone, stripping it of its ornaments and removing its covering. This will occur at the end of time, when no one remains on earth
