This is further supported by what Imam Ahmad narrated from Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Night and day will not pass away until a man from among the bondsmen, called al-Jahjāh, comes to power” (1).

54 — Fighting the Jews:

Another of these signs is that the Muslims will fight the Jews at the end of time. The Jews will be among the forces of the Dajjāl, and the Muslims, who will be the forces of Jesus (peace be upon him), will fight them until the trees and stones say: “O Muslim! O servant of Allah! There is a Jew behind me; come and kill him.”

The Muslims have fought the Jews since the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), defeated them, and expelled them from the Arabian Peninsula, in compliance with the Prophet’s words: “I will surely expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula until I leave none but Muslims there” (2).

This fighting, however, is not the fighting that constitutes one of the signs of the Hour and is described in authentic hadiths. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated that the Muslims would fight them when the Dajjāl emerges and Jesus (peace be upon him) descends.

Imam Ahmad narrated from Samurah ibn Jundab (may Allah be pleased with him) a lengthy hadith concerning the sermon delivered by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day the sun was eclipsed… (in which he mentioned the Dajjāl and said):

ويؤِّيد ذلك ما رواه الإِمام أحمد عن أبي هريرة ﵁؛ قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لا يذهب اللّيل والنهار حتّى يملك رجلٌ من الموالي؛ يقال له: جهجاه" (١). ٥٤ - قتال اليهود: ومنها قتال المسلمين لليهود في آخر الزّمان، وذلك أن اليهود يكونون من جند الدَّجَّال، فيقاتلهم المسلمون الذين هم جند عيسى ﵇، حتّى يقول الشجر والحجر: يا مسلم! يا عبد الله! هذا يهوديّ ورائي، تعال فاقتله. وقد قاتَل المسلمون اليهودَ من زمن النّبيّ ﷺ، وانتصروا عليهم، وأجلوهُم من جزيرة العرب؛ أمتثالًا لقول النّبيّ ﷺ:"الأخْرِجَنَّ اليهود والنصارى من جزيرة العرب، حتّى لا أدع إِلَّا مسلمًا" (٢). ولكن لهذا القتال ليس هو القتال الّذي هو من أشرأط السّاعة، وجاءت به الأحاديث الصحيحة؛ فإن النّبيّ ﷺ أخبر أن المسلمين سيقاتلونهم إذا خرج الدَّجَّال، ونزل عيسى ﵇. روى الإِمام أحمد عن سَمُرة بن جُنْدَب ﵁ حديثًا طويلًا في خطبة النّبيّ ﷺ يوم كسفت الشّمس ... (وفيه أنّه ذكر الدَّجَّال، قال):
