“Did you touch any of its water?” They replied, “Yes.” The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) rebuked them and said to them whatever Allah willed him to say. He continued: Then they scooped a little water at a time from the spring with their hands until some had collected in a vessel. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then washed his hands and face in it and poured it back into the spring. Thereupon, the spring flowed with gushing—or, as he said, abundant—water… until the people had drawn their fill. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then said, “Muʿādh, if you live long enough, you will likely see this place filled with gardens” (1).
47 — Abundant Rainfall and Sparse Vegetation
Abū Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “The Hour will not come until the sky sends down rain from which mud-brick houses (2) provide no shelter, and only tents made of animal hair provide shelter” (3).
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “The Hour will not come until the people are subjected to widespread rain, yet the earth produces nothing” (4).
