31 — The Occurrence of People Being Swallowed by the Earth, Transformed, and Pelted with Stones:

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “At the end of this community, people will be swallowed by the earth, transformed, and pelted with stones.” She asked: “O Messenger of Allah, will we be destroyed even though there are righteous people among us?” He replied: “Yes, when wickedness becomes prevalent” (1).

Ibn Masūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Shortly before the Hour, people will be transformed, swallowed by the earth, and pelted with stones” (2).

Reports have stated that the heretics and the Qadariyya will be transformed and pelted with stones.

Imam Ahmad narrated from Abd Allah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “In my community, people will indeed be transformed and pelted with stones, and this will occur among the heretics and the Qadariyya” (3).
