or the arrowhead may be light while the shaft is heavy, or the reverse.

The cure is to correct each of these faults.

As for the four causes that stem from the archer himself: (1) he presses the arrow with his index finger; (2) his grip is slack; (3) the bow does not suit him; or (4) the arrow does not suit him.

Section
The arrow’s wobble takes three forms:

1. It oscillates from the moment it leaves the bowstring until the moment it lands.
2. It wobbles as it first departs, but when it reaches mid-range it straightens out.
3. It leaves the bow straight; once it reaches the midpoint of its flight it begins to wobble until it strikes the target.

Section
The kind that wobbles from the very start of its flight until it lands is produced by six causes (2):

1. a bend in the shaft;
2. the fletching is uneven;
3. the head is light while the feathers are abundant.
