Fourth: at the moment of drawing, his left hand overpowers his right.
If this results from leaning his body weight on the bow, the remedy is to ⦗1⦘ take up the bow, stand upright, and shoot at a high, elevated target.⦗2⦘
If it arises from poor sitting posture, he must correct it: let him rest on his right leg, fold the right shin beneath him, and keep the left leg upright.
If the bow itself is too strong for him, he should replace it with one of lighter draw weight.
And if the fault is simply the dominance of the left hand, he must wrestle with his grip until it comes into proper balance.
Section: The cause of the arrow-nock breaking and its remedy
The nock can fail in two ways:
- it splits lengthwise into two halves;
- one of its two shoulders breaks off.⦗3⦘
When it splits into two halves, the causes are twofold:
First: a rough string and a slit in the nock that is too narrow;
Second: the arrow is not fully seated on the string, so the string does not reach the end of the slit, leaving a gap. When the arrow is released, the string strikes the base of the nock and splits it.
