10 – Description of the copies used for the critical edition:
I relied on three versions of the book: two handwritten manuscripts and a third—the second printed edition, revised by ʿIzzat al-ʿAṭṭār al-Ḥusaynī.
1 – The Ẓāhiriyya manuscript (symbol: Ẓ):
This copy is preserved in the Ẓāhiriyya Library, with a microfilm held at the Islamic University of Madinah under no. 328. Within the present volume, the work occupies folios 348r–449r of Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn b. ʿUrwa al-Dimashqī al-Ḥanbalī—known as Ibn Zuknūn (1) (d. 837 AH)—in his book al-Kawākib al-Darārī fī Tartīb Musnad al-Imām Aḥmad ʿalā Abwāb al-Bukhārī.
This manuscript consists of 100 pages, including the scribe’s marginal notes. The handwriting is generally clear and legible, though it is at times missing diacritical dots.
It was copied in 830 AH by Yūsuf b. Aḥmad, known as Ibn Sulaymānah (2).
