(1) Reported by Ibn Mājah, no. 304, from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), with a weak chain of transmission. Al-Būsīrī said: “This hadith is weak. No report with this wording is authentically established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Ismā‘īl ibn Muslim al-Makkī is unanimously regarded as weak.” Misbāh al-Zujājah, 1/129. The hadith has corroborating reports from Abū Dharr, Abū al-Dardā’, and Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with them). For their sources and assessment, see Natā’ij al-Afkār, 1/216–218.
