Abū Ayyūb reported that whenever the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ate or drank, he would say: “Praise be to Allah, who has provided food and drink, made it easy to swallow, and provided an outlet for it.” Reported by Abū Dāwūd and al-Nasā’ī (2), with an authentic chain of transmission (3).
Also in the Sunan collections, Mu‘ādh ibn Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever eats food and then says, ‘Praise be to Allah, who has fed me (4) this food without any might or power on my part,’ will have his past sins forgiven.” Al-Tirmidhī said: “This is a sound hadith” (5).

وعن أبي أيوب قال: كان النبي ﷺ إذا أكل أو شرب قال: "الحمد لله الذي أطعم وسقى، وسوَّغه, وجعل له مخرجًا" رواه أبو داود والنسائي (٢)، وإسناده صحيح (٣).
وفي السنن أيضًا عن معاذ بن أنس قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "من أكل طعامًا فقال: الحمد لله الذي أطعمني (٤) هذا من غير حَوْلٍ مني ولا قوة؛ غُفِر له ما تقدم من ذنبه" وقال الترمذي: حديث حسن (٥).
