Al-Bukhārī said in his Ṣaḥīḥ (1), in the “Book of Refutation of the Jahmiyyah,” within the chapters on the Quran, under the heading “Chapter: What has been reported concerning the creation of the heavens, the earth, and the rest of creation”:
“(This is an act of the Lord and His command. Thus the Lord—by His attributes, His act, His command, and His speech—is the Creator, the Originator (2)(3), uncreated; whereas whatever comes about through His act, His command, His creating, and His bringing into being is an effected, created, originated thing).”
He then said (4) thereafter: “Chapter (5): The statement of Allah, Most High:
‘No intercession will avail with Him except for those to whom He has given permission. When fear is lifted from their hearts, they will say, “What has your Lord said?” They will reply, “The truth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.”’ (6)
(And He did not say, ‘What has your Lord created?’).
And He, Exalted is He, also said:
‘Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?’ (7)
Masrūq reported from Ibn Masʿūd (8): “When Allah speaks by revelation, the inhabitants of the heavens hear something; then, when the dread is removed from their hearts (9) and the sound subsides, they realize that it is the truth and they call out, ‘What has your Lord said?’ They reply, ‘He has said the truth.’”
He (10) also said: “And it is related from Jābir ibn ʿAbdullāh ibn Anas (11): ‘I heard (12)…’”
