As for His words,
“We were never idolaters” (1)
and
“They will not be able to conceal any statement from Allah” (2):
Allah forgives (3) the sins of those who are sincere, and (4) the polytheists will say, “Come, let us declare, ‘We were not idolaters.’” (5) Thereupon He will seal their mouths (6) and their hands will speak; at that moment they will realize (7) that nothing can be hidden from Allah, in accordance with His saying, “On that Day those who disbelieved will wish…” (8).
He created the earth in two days, then created the heaven; after that He turned toward the heaven and fashioned them in another two days. Next He spread out the earth—the spreading (9) being that He brought forth from it its water and pasture—and He created the mountains (10), the hills, and whatever lies between them in another two days. Thus the earth and everything in it were created (11) in four days, while the heavens were created in two days.
Allah has always been Forgiving and Merciful; He named Himself with these attributes (12), saying, “I have never ceased to be so.” (13) Whatever Allah wills inevitably comes to pass, so let nothing in the Qur’an seem contradictory to you, for it is all from Allah. This is the form in which al-Bukhari narrated the report in abridged fashion.
