and that the Hour will surely come, without any doubt; that Allah will resurrect those who lie in the graves; that Allah is established over His Throne (1), as He says:

“The All-Merciful rose over the Throne.” (2)

We affirm that He has a Face (3), as He says:

“Only the Face of your Lord, full of majesty and honor, will remain.” (4)

We affirm that He has two Hands (5), as He says:

“Rather, both His Hands are outstretched,” (6)

and His saying: “that which I created with My two Hands.” (7)

We affirm that He has two Eyes, without ascribing to them a how (8), as He says:

“while it flows under Our Eyes.” (9)

Whoever claims that the Name (10) of Allah is something other than Him is misguided.

We affirm that Allah possesses Knowledge, as He says:

“He sent it down with His knowledge” (11), and His statement (12):

“No female bears or gives birth except with His knowledge.” (13)

We also affirm for Allah Power (14), as He says:

“Have they not seen that Allah, who created them, is stronger than they in power?” (15)

وأن الساعة آتية لا ريب فيها، وأن الله يبعث من في القبور، وأن الله مستو (١) على عرشه، كما قال: {الرَّحْمَنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَى} (٢) . وأن له وجهًا (٣) ، كما قال: {وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ} (٤) . وأن له يدين (٥) ، كما قال: {بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ} (٦) وقال: {لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ} (٧) . وأن له عينين (٨) بلا كيف، كما قال: {تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا} (٩) . وأن من زعم أن اسم (١٠) الله غيره كان ضالًا. وأن لله علمًا، كما قال: {أَنْزَلَهُ بِعِلْمِهِ} (١١) ، وقوله (١٢) : {وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنْثَى وَلَا تَضَعُ إلا بِعِلْمِهِ} (١٣) . ونثبت لله قوة (١٤) ، كما قال: {أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً} (١٥) .
