“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a beard thick with hair.”
Al-Nasāʾī likewise reports from al-Barāʾ — may Allah be pleased with him — who said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was thick-bearded.”
Al-Tirmidhī in al-Shamāʾil, al-Ṭabarānī in al-Kabīr, al-Bayhaqī in Shuʿab al-Īmān, and al-Ājurri in Kitāb al-Sharīʿah transmit from Hind ibn Abī Hālah — may Allah be pleased with him — that he said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was thick-bearded.”
Al-Ḥāfiẓ Abū Nuʿaym al-Iṣfahānī also narrates from ʿAbd Allah ibn Masʿūd — may Allah be pleased with him — that when he described the Messenger of Allah ﷺ he mentioned among his features that he was thick-bearded.
Al-Ḥākim, after authenticating the report in his Mustadrak, together with al-Bayhaqī and al-Ājurri, relate that Umm Maʿbad al-Khuzaʿiyyah, in her celebrated description of the Prophet ﷺ, said: “And his beard was full.”
These narrations constitute the most decisive refutation of anyone who has fabricated a claim against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, alleging that he did not let his beard grow after the advent of Islam.
