Section: Islam’s Veneration of the Messiah, Servant of Allah and His Messenger

They say: “Furthermore—since it does not befit people of sound understanding to ignore the Holy Spirit and the Word of Allah, of whom this Book speaks so magnificently—He, the Exalted, said concerning the Word of Allah:

‘None of the People of the Scripture will fail to believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them.’ ⦗al-Nisāʾ 4:159⦘.

Response:
Allah, exalted is He, did not send Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—with instructions to neglect the rightful due of the Messiah, peace be upon him. Rather, He commanded him to believe in the Messiah and in what the Messiah brought, just as He commanded him to believe in Moses and in what Moses brought, and just as He commanded the Messiah to believe in Moses and what Moses brought. Yet He also ordered that every innovation introduced into the religion—anything Allah did not legislate through the tongue of the Messiah, peace be upon him—and everything Allah later abrogated from his law through the tongue of Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—be set aside. Thus, what has been altered and what has been abrogated alike are to be discarded, in obedience to Allah’s command.
