Section: Refuting the Christians’ claim that the Qur’an treats all religions alike
They argue, “And He has said in Sūrat al-Baqarah:
‘Indeed, those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabeans—whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and acts righteously—will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear shall be upon them, nor shall they grieve’ (al-Baqarah 62).”
From this, they maintain, He has placed everyone on the same level: the Jews, the Muslims, and all others.
The answer is as follows: First, this verse gives you no proof for what you seek, for it places you on exactly the same footing as the Jews and the Sabeans, and you and the Muslims are agreed that the Jews
[فَصْلٌ: رَدُّ دَعْوَى النَّصَارَى أَنَّ الْقُرْآنَ سَوَّى بَيْنَ جَمِيعِ الْأَدْيَانِ]
قَالُوا وَقَالَ فِي سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ:
{إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَالَّذِينَ هَادُوا وَالنَّصَارَى وَالصَّابِئِينَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ}

فَسَاوَى بِهَذَا الْقَوْلِ بَيْنَ سَائِرِ النَّاسِ:
الْيَهُودِ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ.
وَالْجَوَابُ أَنْ يُقَالَ:
أَوَّلًا:
لَا حُجَّةَ لَكُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ عَلَى مَطْلُوبِكُمْ، فَإِنَّهُ يُسَوِّي بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْيَهُودِ وَالصَّابِئِينَ، وَأَنْتُمْ مَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ مُتَّفِقُونَ عَلَى أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ
