Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-Masīh - Ibn Taimiya - (3/98)

Allah, Exalted be He, also says:

“Fight those from among the People of the Scripture who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day, who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have declared unlawful, and who do not embrace the religion of truth—until they pay the jizyah with their own hands, humbled.” [at-Tawbah 9:29]

Allah, Exalted be He, says:

“The Jews say, ‘Ezra is the son of Allah,’ and the Christians say, ‘The Messiah is the son of Allah.’ Such are the words that come from their mouths; they resemble the statement of those who disbelieved before them. May Allah destroy them! How perverted are they?” [at-Tawbah 9:30] (30)

“They have taken their rabbis and monks as lords instead of Allah, as well as the Messiah, son of Mary, though they were commanded to worship only one God. There is no deity but Him. Highly exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.” [at-Tawbah 9:31]

Allah, Exalted be He, says:

“They wish to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah refuses to do other than perfect His light, even though the unbelievers detest it. He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth so that He may make it prevail over every other religion, even though the polytheists detest it. O you who believe, many of the rabbis and monks consume people’s wealth wrongfully and turn others away from the path of Allah.” [at-Tawbah 9:32-34]

وَقَالَ - تَعَالَى -: {قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلَا بِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حَتَّى يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ} [التوبة: ٢٩] . وَقَالَ - تَعَالَى -: {وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ عُزَيْرٌ ابْنُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ يُضَاهِئُونَ قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ} [التوبة: ٣٠] (٣٠) {اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا إِلَهًا وَاحِدًا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ سُبْحَانَهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ} [التوبة: ٣١] . وَقَالَ - تَعَالَى -: {يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى اللَّهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يُتِمَّ نُورَهُ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ - هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ - يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْأَحْبَارِ وَالرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ} [التوبة: ٣٢ - ٣٤] .
