“Say, ‘Bring your witnesses who can testify that Allah has forbidden this.’ Then if they testify, do not testify with them, and do not follow the passions of those who deny Our signs, who do not believe in the Hereafter, and who equate others with their Lord.” [al-Anʿām 6:150]

He, Exalted be He, also says: “And say, ‘I believe in whatever Book Allah has sent down,’” [al-Shūrā 42:15]—a declaration made in truth, for Allah has commanded him and all creation to believe in everything that Allah has revealed.

Likewise His words, Exalted is He: “And I have been commanded to deal justly between you,” [al-Shūrā 42:15] for Allah charged him to act justly toward all people.

And His saying: “Allah is our Lord and your Lord; we have our deeds and you have your deeds,” [al-Shūrā 42:15].

This is his renunciation of the polytheists and the People of the Scripture to whom he speaks in this manner, just as in His words, Exalted is He: “But if they deny you, then say, ‘For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds; you are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what you do.’” [Yūnus 10:41]

{قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَاءَكُمُ الَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَ هَذَا فَإِنْ شَهِدُوا فَلَا تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَالَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ وَهُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ} [الأنعام: ١٥٠] . وَقَوْلِهِ - تَعَالَى -: {وَقُلْ آمَنْتُ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنْ كِتَابٍ} [الشورى: ١٥] . حَقٍّ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَهُ وَجَمِيعَ الْخَلْقِ أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِجَمِيعِ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَكَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ - تَعَالَى -: {وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ} [الشورى: ١٥] . فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَعْدِلَ بَيْنَ جَمِيعِ الْخَلْقِ وَقَوْلُهُ: {اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ} [الشورى: ١٥] . هَذِهِ بَرَاءَةٌ مِنْهُ لِمَنْ يُخَاطِبُ بِذَلِكَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَأَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ، كَقَوْلِهِ - تَعَالَى -: {وَإِنْ كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُلْ لِي عَمَلِي وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْ أَنْتُمْ بَرِيئُونَ مِمَّا أَعْمَلُ وَأَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ} [يونس: ٤١] .
