As for their specious proof, it is their claim: “All the prophetic scriptures in existence—the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Books of the Prophets—are preserved in 72 languages with one and the same wording and meaning.” Can any intelligent person seriously maintain that he knows this to be true? Can he really be certain that every copy of the 24 prophetic books in each of those 72 tongues agrees perfectly with every copy in all the other languages?
Suppose someone were to assert that every Arabic copy of the Torah in the world (or every Arabic copy of the Gospel, or every Arabic copy of the Psalms) matches all the other Arabic copies scattered to the ends of the earth. He would be claiming knowledge he does not possess and can never attain. How could he possibly know that? Has he examined every Arabic manuscript of these scriptures? Or has someone whose truthfulness is absolutely assured informed him that all the Arabic copies now extant everywhere are identical to this one?
The same objection applies when the claim is made for the Greek, Syriac, or Latin versions
