Section: A rebuttal of their claim that the Torah was taken from ʿUzayr—an infallible prophet, according to them.
As for the Torah itself, it is well-known among Muslims, Jews, and Christians that Bayt al-Maqdis (the Temple in Jerusalem) was destroyed in the first calamity, its people were expelled and carried off as captives, and, at that point, there were no plentiful, publicly circulating copies of the Torah. Instead, the text survived only through a small group of individuals.
They assert that ʿUzayr dictated the Torah, and that when another copy was later discovered they compared the two. Yet such a comparison can be carried out by just two people, either of whom may make a mistake. They also relate
