Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

Section: The Christians’ analogy between their scriptures and the Qur’an is invalid.

Thus their objection runs: “We are amazed at these people—despite their learning, intelligence, and discernment—how can they use an argument like this against us?”

They continue: “If we, in turn, were to say to them—and argue on the same basis—that the scripture now in their hands has been altered and tampered with, that they have written into it whatever they wished and desired, would they accept such a claim from us?”

The narrator reporting their words says: “I replied to them, ‘That is impermissible and impossible for anyone to say. It cannot be altered, nor can so much as a single letter of it be changed.’”
