And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you show kindness to your parents. Should one or both of them reach old age while in your care, do not even say to them “uff,” nor rebuke them; rather, speak to them in noble words. Lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, “My Lord, have mercy on them as they raised me when I was small.”
Your Lord knows best what is in your hearts. If you are righteous, then He is ever Forgiving toward those who constantly turn back to Him.
Give the near of kin their due, and also the needy and the traveler; but do not squander your wealth wastefully. Surely the squanderers are brothers of the devils, and Satan has always been ungrateful to his Lord. Yet if you must turn away from them while awaiting mercy from your Lord that you hope for, then speak to them words of gentle reassurance. Do not keep your hand chained to your neck, nor spread it wide open, lest you end up censured and destitute. Indeed, your Lord enlarges provision for whom He wills and restricts it; He is ever All-Aware, All-Seeing with regard to His servants.
Do not kill your children for fear of poverty; We provide for them and for you. Killing them is a grievous sin.
Do not go near adultery—it is an indecency and an evil path.
Do not take a life that Allah has made sacred, except in justice. Whoever is killed wrongfully, We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in retaliation, for he is surely supported. Do not approach the property of the orphan except in the way that is best, until he comes of age. Fulfil every covenant, for every covenant will be questioned. Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with an even balance—that is better and yields the best outcome.
Do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge; indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart—each of these shall be called to account.
Do not walk upon the earth exultantly, for you will never pierce the earth, nor reach the mountains in height. All of that—its evil is detested by your Lord.
This is part of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. Do not set up another god alongside Allah, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished. [al-Isrāʾ, 17:23–39]
Thus, the religion of the prophets and messengers is one, even though each of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran has its own legislation and path; and for this reason the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—
