those who believe in some while rejecting others, for He—the Exalted—has said:
“Say, ‘We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit. If they believe in the same as you believe, they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, they are merely in schism. Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.’” ⦗Al-Baqarah 136–137⦘
And He—the Exalted—also says:
“The Messenger has believed in what was sent down to him from his Lord, and so have the believers; each of them believes in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers. We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” ⦗Al-Baqarah 285⦘
And He—the Exalted—says:
“Indeed, those who deny Allah and His messengers and seek to make a distinction between Allah and His messengers, saying, ‘We believe in some and reject others,’ and who wish to adopt a position in between—those are the true disbelievers, and We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment. But those who believe in Allah and His messengers and make no distinction between any of them, He will soon grant them their rewards. Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” ⦗An-Nisa’ 150–152⦘
Thus He condemned anyone who separates between them by believing in some and rejecting others, while at the same time clarifying that He has favored some of them over others, for He—the Exalted—says:
“Those messengers—We have favored some of them over others.” ⦗Al-Baqarah 253⦘
