And He—the Most High—also says:
“And when Jesus son of Mary said, ‘O Children of Israel, I am indeed God’s messenger to you, confirming the Torah that is before me and giving glad tidings of a messenger who will come after me whose name is Ahmad.’ Yet when he came to them with clear proofs they said, ‘This is manifest sorcery.’” (al-Ṣaff 61:6)
Thus, God has informed us that Jesus confirmed the messenger and the scripture that preceded him—the Torah—and that he announced the coming of the messenger who would follow him, namely Ahmad.
The Most High likewise says:
“We shall surely turn you toward a direction of prayer that pleases you. So turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque, and wherever you may be, turn your faces toward it. Those who were given the Scripture know well that it is the truth from their Lord, and God is not unaware of what they do.” (al-Baqarah 2:144)
—up to His words:
“Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognize him as they recognize their own sons, yet a group of them knowingly hides the truth.” (al-Baqarah 2:146)
And He—the Exalted—says:
“Indeed, it is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds; the Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down upon your heart so that you may be one of the warners, in clear Arabic speech. It is surely mentioned in the scriptures of the former peoples. Is it not a sign for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel recognize it?” (al-Shuʿarāʾ 26:192–197)
He also says, commending those Christians of whom He spoke approvingly:
“When they hear what has been sent down to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflow with tears because of the truth they recognize, and they say, ‘Our Lord, we believe.’” (al-Māʾidah 5:83)
