It is now manifest that the position of those who distort the words from their contexts and force upon the speech of Allah and His Messenger meanings that, as everyone acquainted with their situation—believer or unbeliever alike—realises, were never intended, is utterly groundless.
He has shown that Allah did not mean the Gospel alone when He spoke of “the Book,” just as He did not confine “the messengers” to the disciples. Rather, by the radiant Book He meant every scripture Allah has sent down—such as the Torah and the Gospel—and by the messengers He meant, in an unqualified sense, every envoy Allah has dispatched: Noah, Abraham, Moses, and the Messiah, son of Mary—may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon them all.
