Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-Masīh - Ibn Taimiya - (2/336)

Muslims and the People of the Scripture are agreed that two Messiahs have been affirmed: a guiding Messiah from the progeny of David, and a Messiah of misguidance. The People of the Scripture say that the latter is from the lineage of Joseph, and they are unanimous that the guiding Messiah will appear just as the Messiah of error will appear.

Both Muslims and Christians say that the guiding Messiah is Jesus son of Mary, sent by Allah, and that he will return a second time. Muslims, however, hold that he will descend before the Day of Resurrection, kill the Messiah of misguidance, break the cross, slaughter the swine, and that no religion will remain except Islam; at that time the People of the Scripture—the Jews and the Christians—will believe in him.

وَالْمُسْلِمُونَ وَأَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ مُتَّفِقُونَ عَلَى إِثْبَاتِ مَسِيحَيْنِ: مَسِيحِ هُدًى مِنْ وَلَدِ دَاوُدَ وَمَسِيحِ ضَلَالٍ. يَقُولُ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَنَّهُ مِنْ وَلَدِ يُوسُفَ وَمُتَّفِقُونَ عَلَى أَنَّ مَسِيحَ الْهُدَى سَوْفَ يَأْتِي كَمَا يَأْتِي مَسِيحُ الضَّلَالَةِ. لَكِنِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَالنَّصَارَى يَقُولُونَ: مَسِيحُ الْهُدَى هُوَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ أَرْسَلَهُ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي مَرَّةً ثَانِيَةً لَكِنِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ يَقُولُونَ أَنَّهُ يَنْزِلُ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَقْتُلُ مَسِيحَ الضَّلَالَةِ وَيَكْسِرُ الصَّلِيبَ وَيَقْتُلُ الْخِنْزِيرَ وَلَا يَبْقَى دِينٌ إِلَّا دِينَ الْإِسْلَامِ وَيُؤْمِنُ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى.
