Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-Masīh - Ibn Taimiya - (2/281)

is the Namus—the bearer of revelation—who used to descend to Moses son of Imran.

Allah, exalted be He, also says: They said,

“Why has he not been given the like of what Moses was given? Did they not already deny what Moses was given before? They say, ‘Two kinds of sorcery supporting each other….’” ⦗28:48⦘

i.e., the Torah and the Qur’an. They went on to say, “Two magicians supporting each other,” meaning Moses and Muhammad, and they declared, “We disbelieve in both.”

Allah then said:

“Say: Bring a Book from Allah that offers better guidance than either of them; I will follow it, if you are truthful.” ⦗28:49⦘

Thus He has made clear that no Book has come from Allah providing guidance superior to that of the Torah and the Qur’an.

He, exalted be He, also says:

“They did not value Allah as He deserves when they said, ‘Allah has sent nothing down to any human being.’ Say: ‘Who then sent down the Book that Moses brought as a light and guidance for people? You turn it into parchments, showing some of it while concealing much, and you were taught what neither you nor your fathers knew.’ Say: ‘Allah,’ then leave them to plunge about in their vain discourse. And this is a blessed Book We have sent down, confirming what came before it, so that you may warn the Mother of Cities and those around her. Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it, and they are constant in their prayer.” ⦗6:91–92⦘

هُوَ النَّامُوسُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَنْزِلُ عَلَى مُوسَى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ. وَقَالَ - تَعَالَى -: قَالُوا: {لَوْلَا أُوتِيَ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى أَوَلَمْ يَكْفُرُوا بِمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى مِنْ قَبْلُ قَالُوا سِحْرَانِ تَظَاهَرَا} [القصص: ٤٨] أَيِ: التَّوْرَاةُ وَالْقُرْآنُ. وَقَالُوا سَاحِرَانِ تَظَاهَرَا أَيْ مُوسَى وَمُحَمَّدٌ وَقَالُوا إِنَّا بِكُلٍّ كَافِرُونَ. قَالَ اللَّهُ: {قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِكِتَابٍ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ أَهْدَى مِنْهُمَا أَتَّبِعْهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ} [القصص: ٤٩] فَقَدْ بَيَّنَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَأْتِ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ كِتَابٌ أَهْدَى مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْقُرْآنِ. وَقَالَ - تَعَالَى -: {وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ إِذْ قَالُوا مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى بَشَرٍ مِنْ شَيْءٍ قُلْ مَنْ أَنْزَلَ الْكِتَابَ الَّذِي جَاءَ بِهِ مُوسَى نُورًا وَهُدًى لِلنَّاسِ تَجْعَلُونَهُ قَرَاطِيسَ تُبْدُونَهَا وَتُخْفُونَ كَثِيرًا وَعُلِّمْتُمْ مَا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنْتُمْ وَلَا آبَاؤُكُمْ قُلِ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ ذَرْهُمْ فِي خَوْضِهِمْ يَلْعَبُونَ - وَهَذَا كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ مُبَارَكٌ مُصَدِّقُ الَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلِتُنْذِرَ أُمَّ الْقُرَى وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَهُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ} [الأنعام: ٩١ - ٩٢] .
