“They have taken their rabbis and monks as lords apart from Allah, and even the Messiah, son of Mary, while they were commanded to worship only one God. There is no god but Him; exalted is He above all they associate with Him.” [9:31]

The Exalted also said—after mentioning the Messiah:

“Yet the factions among them differed; so woe to the disbelievers when they witness the scene of a tremendous Day. How clearly they will hear and see on the Day they come to Us! But today the wrongdoers are in manifest error.” [19:37–38]

And He, Most High, said:

“Those who say, ‘Allah is indeed the Messiah, son of Mary,’ have certainly disbelieved.” [5:72]

Likewise, His words:

“Those who say, ‘Allah is one of a Trinity,’ have certainly disbelieved.” [5:73]

He also forbade taking them as allies, saying:

“O you who believe, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies; they are allies of one another. Whoever among you allies himself with them is surely one of them.” [5:51]

Moreover, He has informed us that Allah is the Protector of the God-fearing, when He said:

“Then We set you upon a clear way of the command; so follow it and do not follow the desires of those who lack knowledge. They will never avail you against Allah in the least. Indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another, whereas Allah is the Protector of the God-fearing.” [45:18–19]
