—namely, we Christians who have believed in the Messiah even though we have never seen him. He then followed this by saying: {and those who believe in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down before you} ⦗2:4⦘; by them I mean the Muslims who believe in what he brought and in what had been brought before him.
He also says in Sūrah al-Māʾidah: {… and as an admonition for the God-fearing – so let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein; and whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such people are the defiantly disobedient} ⦗5:46-47⦘.
And He says in Sūrah Āl ʿImrān: {If they belie you, messengers before you were also belied; they came with clear proofs, scriptures, and the radiant Book} ⦗3:184⦘; by “the radiant Book” I likewise mean the sacred Gospel.
He further says: {So if you are in doubt about what We have sent down to you, ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you; the truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters} ⦗10:94⦘.
Thus, in light of all this, what we hold has been affirmed, and every accusation of alteration, corruption, or substitution directed at our Gospel and the Scriptures in our hands is nullified, for He Himself has confirmed them.
