They therefore bore witness that he is a servant of Allah, a created being—contrary to the Christians—and that he is a messenger, distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near to Allah—contrary to the Jews.
With regard to affirmation and denial, the practice of the Jews is to deny the truth, whereas the practice of the Christians is to affirm falsehood. The Jews rejected those prophets whom they denied even though the prophets had come with the truth, as the Exalted One says: “Is it that whenever a messenger came to you with what your souls did not desire, you grew arrogant, so that some of them you denied and others you killed?” (Quran 2:87).
The Christians, on the other hand, accept claims that sound reason and revealed law alike deem impossible—such as their belief in the Trinity, the incarnation, and other similar impossibilities.
