And in Sūrah al-Sajdah He says:

“so that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you, so they might be guided.” (Qur’an 32:3)

And in Sūrah Yā-Sīn He says:

“so that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, and therefore they are heedless.” (Qur’an 36:6)

They said, “When we considered all this, we understood that he was not sent to us, but to the pagan Arabs of the Age of Ignorance—those of whom he himself said that no messenger or warner had come to them before him—and that we are not obliged to follow him. Messengers came to us long before his time; they spoke our own languages, warned us concerning our religion, which we still hold fast to today, and handed down to us the Torah and the Gospel in our tongues. This very Book brought by the man bears witness to that, for it states in Sūrah Ibrāhīm:

‘We have never sent a messenger except in the language of his people, so that he might make the message clear to them.’ (Qur’an 14:4)

And in Sūrah al-Naḥl He says:

‘We have surely raised up in every community a messenger.’ (Qur’an 16:36)

And in Sūrah al-Rūm He says:

‘Before you We sent messengers to their people, and they came to them with clear proofs.’ (Qur’an 30:47)”}
