your people.”

The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—asked, “Will they truly drive me out?”

Waraqah replied, “Yes. No one has ever brought what you have brought without being opposed. If I live to see that day, I will support you with decisive, unyielding help.”

For this reason, exalted is He, Allah often links the Torah and the Qur’an together, as in His words:

“When the truth came to them from Us, they said, ‘Why has he not been given the like of what Moses was given?’ But did they not reject what Moses was given before? They say, ‘Two works of magic supporting each other.’” [al-Qasas: 48]

The two “works of magic” here mean the Torah and the Qur’an. In another Qur’anic reading it is rendered, “They say, ‘Two magicians,’” that is, Muhammad
