Muslim—along with other compilers—relates from ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said, “I heard the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say to Ḥassān ibn Thābit:

‘The Holy Spirit will continue to strengthen you so long as you stand up for Allah and His Messenger.’”

Both Ṣaḥīḥ collections also transmit from al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib who said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say to Ḥassān ibn Thābit:

‘Satirize them—or answer their satire—and Gabriel is with you.’”
