And the Exalted One said:
“O Messengers, eat of the wholesome things and act righteously; I am indeed All-Aware of what you do.” (Q 23:51)
(52) “And this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so fear Me.”
“But they split their affair among themselves into separate scriptures; each faction rejoices in what it possesses.” (Q 23:53)
Hence, whoever’s faith in Allah and His messengers is more complete is more deserving of Allah’s support, for Allah says in His Book: “We shall surely give victory to Our messengers and to those who believe, in the life of this world and on the Day when witnesses will stand forth.” (Q 40:51)
And He says in His Book:
“Our word has already gone forth to Our servants, the messengers” (Q 37:171)
(171) “that they will surely be helped,” (Q 37:172)
(172) “and that Our hosts will indeed be the victors.” (Q 37:173)
The Jews rejected both the Messiah and Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—as Allah has said about them: “How vile is that for which they sold themselves, that they should disbelieve in what Allah has sent down, out of envy that Allah should send down of His bounty upon whom He wills of His servants; and so they incurred wrath upon wrath.” (Q 2:90)
The first wrath fell upon them for denying the Messiah, the second for denying Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The Christians did not deny the Messiah, and so they were granted victory over the Jews; and the Muslims, too, have been granted victory over the Jews
