and the highest rank of his mother is that she was a ṣiddīqah—a woman of exceptional truthfulness—which shows that she was not a prophetess. Then He said, “They both used to eat food.” Eating is among the clearest attributes that deny divinity, for it requires something to enter the body and, together with the waste, to leave it. The Lord, exalted be He, is One, the Ever-Self-Sufficient; He neither begets nor is begotten, and there is none comparable to Him.
