“and for their uttering against Mary a monstrous slander.” [al-Nisaʾ 4:156]

The Christians, for their part, claim that Christ is Allah, who created the first and the last, and that he is the Judge on the Day of Recompense; thus the two communities stand in total contradiction, enmity, and opposition concerning him. As a result, each nation denounces the other far more severely than it deserves, as the Exalted says:

“The Jews say, ‘The Christians have no foundation,’ and the Christians say, ‘The Jews have no foundation,’ although they both recite the Scripture. Likewise, those who possess no knowledge make statements similar to theirs. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding all that over which they used to differ.” [al-Baqarah 2:113]
