The prophets acknowledged this covenant, and Allah Himself bore witness to their pledge, as He, the Exalted, said:

“Have you affirmed it and taken upon yourselves My commitment?” They replied, “We have affirmed.” He said, “Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.” (Āl ʿImrān 3:81)

Then He, the Exalted, said:

“Whoever turns away after that—such people are the defiantly disobedient.” (Āl ʿImrān 3:82)

Then He, the Exalted, said:

“Do they seek a religion other than Allah’s, while everything in the heavens and on earth submits to Him, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned?” (Āl ʿImrān 3:83)

Then He, the Exalted, said:

“Say, ‘We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and in what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and in what Moses, Jesus, and the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit.’” (Āl ʿImrān 3:84)

Then He, the Exalted, said:

“Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.” (Āl ʿImrān 3:85)
