And the Exalted One also says:
“When I revealed to the Disciples, ‘Believe in Me and in My Messenger,’ they replied, ‘We believe; so bear witness that we have submitted.’” (al-Māʾidah 5:111)

He, exalted is He, likewise says:
“O you who believe, be Allah’s helpers, just as Jesus son of Mary said to the Disciples, ‘Who will be my helpers for the cause of Allah?’ The Disciples answered, ‘We are Allah’s helpers.’ Then a faction of the Children of Israel believed, while another faction disbelieved; so We strengthened those who believed against their enemies and they became dominant.” (al-Ṣaff 61:14)

We shall discuss this matter at length and show that the messengers mentioned in Sūrah Ya-Sīn are not the Disciples, nor were they envoys of the Messiah. That mission took place before the Messiah, and the townspeople rejected those messengers, whereupon Allah destroyed them, as He, exalted is He, says:
“We did not send down upon his people after him any host from heaven, nor would We ever send.” (Ya-Sīn 36:28) ⦗28⦘
“It was but one mighty blast, and behold, they were extinguished.” (Ya-Sīn 36:29)

The messengers mentioned in Sūrah Ya-Sīn were three, and in that town there was a man who believed in them. Even if the town was indeed Antioch, the mission itself occurred before the Messiah. As for the Messiah—peace be upon him—two of his companions went to Antioch after he had been taken up.
