Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

all of you to attend my meal, and let not a single one of you stay behind.”
He said, “This is something by which you honor me.”
When they gathered around him, the monk kept fixing the Prophet—may Allah grant him peace and blessings—with a searching, penetrating gaze, examining his very frame. Abu Talib grew anxious for the boy on account of the monk. Then the monk said to Abu Talib, “Take your nephew back home, for a momentous future awaits him. We find his description in our books, and it has reached us through the reports of our forefathers.”
Once they had concluded their trading, Abu Talib hurried back to Mecca, and after that he never again took the boy on a journey, fearing for his safety.

This comes in spite of the fact that the Quran itself contains refutations of the People of the Book for some of the distortions they introduced—such as their claim that the Messiah, peace be upon him, was crucified; the assertion by some of them that he is God; the allegation by others that he was a sorcerer; their vilification of Solomon, peace be upon him, and their claim that he too practiced sorcery; and similar fabrications—all of which makes clear that the Prophet did not derive his message from them.

Furthermore, the Quran relates accounts of prophets—peace be upon them—that are not found in either the Torah or the Gospel, such as the stories of Hud, Salih, Shuʿayb, and others.
