Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

Allah wills—set forth the many proofs that he never took from any of the People of the Scripture so much as a single word. The episode of Bahira is, in fact, well attested; the masters of prophetic biography as well as the compilers of the Musnad and Sunan collections have all recorded it.

Al-Ḥāfiẓ Abū ʿĪsā Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā ibn Sūra al-Tirmidhī said in his Jāmiʿ:

“Al-Faḍl Abū al-ʿAbbās al-Baghdādī narrated to us, saying:
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ghazwān Abū Nūḥ narrated to us;
I was informed by Yūnus ibn Abī Isḥāq, from Abū Bakr ibn Abī Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, from his father, who said:
‘Abū Ṭālib set out…’”
