and He also says:
“Indeed, We have made it easy in your tongue so that you may thereby bring glad tidings to the God-fearing and warn thereby a contentious people.”
(Maryam 97)
The word “ludd” is the plural of “alad,” describing someone crooked in argument who evades the truth—just as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The most hateful of men to Allah is the obstinate, combative disputant.”
As for His—exalted is He—statement:
“And We have not sent any messenger except with the language of his people, so that he might make things clear to them.”
(Ibrahim 4)
it is exactly as He has said. The people of Muhammad—peace and blessings be upon him—are Quraysh, and it was in their own tongue that he was sent. Yet the Almighty did not say, “We have sent every messenger only to his people.” Rather, Allah dispatches the messenger to his own people and to others besides them. Christians likewise affirm that He sent the Messiah, peace be upon him, and the disciples to people other than the Children of Israel, who were not of his nation. Similarly, Allah sent Muhammad—peace and blessings be upon him—to his people and to others; but He sent him in the language of his people so that he might clarify the message to them, after which that clarification reaches others through their mediation, whether in their own language
{فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنْذِرَ بِهِ قَوْمًا لُدًّا}
{وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ}
