Al-Jawāb as-Sahīh li-man baddala dīn al-MasīhIbn Taimiya

He—the Exalted—also says:

“Those who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary,’ have certainly disbelieved. Yet the Messiah said, ‘O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates anything with Allah, Allah has indeed forbidden him Paradise, and his abode will be the Fire. The wrongdoers will have no helpers.’” [Al-Māʾidah: 72] (72)

“Those who say, ‘Allah is the third of three,’ have certainly disbelieved. There is no deity except the One God. If they do not desist from what they say, a painful punishment will befall those among them who disbelieve.” [Al-Māʾidah: 73] (73)

“Will they not then repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [Al-Māʾidah: 74] (74)

“The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a messenger; messengers passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth, and they both used to eat food. Look how We make the signs clear to them, then look how they are turned away.” [Al-Māʾidah: 75] (75)

“Say, ‘Do you worship besides Allah that which has no power to harm or benefit you? Allah alone is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.’” [Al-Māʾidah: 76] (76)

“Say, ‘People of the Scripture, do not exceed proper bounds in your religion beyond the truth, and do not follow the whims of a people who went astray before, led many others astray, and strayed from the straight path.’” [Al-Māʾidah: 77] (77)

And He—the Exalted—says:

“People of the Scripture, do not exaggerate in your religion and do not say about Allah anything but the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, His word that He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and do not say, ‘Three.’ Desist—it is better for you. Allah is only one God. Glory be to Him—far above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth, and Allah is sufficient as a trustee.” [Al-Nisāʾ: 171] (171)

“The Messiah would never disdain to be a servant of Allah, nor would the angels who are near to Him. Whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant, He will gather them all to Himself.” [Al-Nisāʾ: 172] (172)

“As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will grant them their rewards in full and increase them out of His bounty. But those who were disdainful and arrogant, He will punish with a painful punishment, and they will find for themselves no protector or helper besides Allah.” [Al-Nisāʾ: 173] (173)

“O mankind, a clear proof has come to you from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a manifest light.” [Al-Nisāʾ: 174] (174)

“So those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into mercy from Him and grace, and guide them to Himself on a straight path.” [Al-Nisāʾ: 175] (175)

وَقَالَ - تَعَالَى -: أَيْضًا {لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحُ يَابَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ مَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَاهُ النَّارُ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنْصَارٍ} [المائدة: ٧٢] (٧٢) {لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَاثَةٍ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِلَّا إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهُوا عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ} [المائدة: ٧٣] (٧٣) {أَفَلَا يَتُوبُونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَهُ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ} [المائدة: ٧٤] (٧٤) {مَا الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ وَأُمُّهُ صِدِّيقَةٌ كَانَا يَأْكُلَانِ الطَّعَامَ انْظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ الْآيَاتِ ثُمَّ انْظُرْ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ} [المائدة: ٧٥] (٧٥) {قُلْ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَاللَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ} [المائدة: ٧٦] (٧٦) {قُلْ يَاأَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا أَهْوَاءَ قَوْمٍ قَدْ ضَلُّوا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَأَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا وَضَلُّوا عَنْ سَوَاءِ السَّبِيلِ} [المائدة: ٧٧] . وَقَالَ - تَعَالَى -: {يَاأَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لَا تَغْلُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ وَلَا تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ إِنَّمَا الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُ أَلْقَاهَا إِلَى مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِنْهُ فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَلَا تَقُولُوا ثَلَاثَةٌ انْتَهُوا خَيْرًا لَكُمْ إِنَّمَا اللَّهُ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ سُبْحَانَهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا} [النساء: ١٧١] (١٧١) {لَنْ يَسْتَنْكِفَ الْمَسِيحُ أَنْ يَكُونَ عَبْدًا لِلَّهِ وَلَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ وَمَنْ يَسْتَنْكِفْ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَيَسْتَكْبِرْ فَسَيَحْشُرُهُمْ إِلَيْهِ جَمِيعًا} [النساء: ١٧٢] (١٧٢) {فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَيَزِيدُهُمْ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْتَنْكَفُوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فَيُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا} [النساء: ١٧٣] (١٧٣) {يَاأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بُرْهَانٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَأَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ نُورًا مُبِينًا} [النساء: ١٧٤] (١٧٤) {فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَاعْتَصَمُوا بِهِ فَسَيُدْخِلُهُمْ فِي رَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ وَفَضْلٍ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَيْهِ صِرَاطًا مُسْتَقِيمًا} [النساء: ١٧٥]
