The Exalted One also says:
“Allah bears witness that there is no deity except Him—as do the angels and those gifted with knowledge—He is maintaining His creation in justice. There is no deity except Him, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” [Āl ʿImrān: 18] (18)
“Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of mutual envy. And whoever disbelieves in the signs of Allah—then indeed Allah is swift in reckoning.” [Āl ʿImrān: 19] (19)
“So if they argue with you, say, ‘I have submitted my face to Allah, and so have those who follow me.’ And say to those who were given the Scripture and to the unlettered, ‘Have you submitted?’ If they submit, they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, upon you is only the duty of communication. And Allah is All-Seeing of His servants.” [Āl ʿImrān: 20]
The disbelief of the Jews and the Christians is mentioned in many other passages as well, such as His statement—exalted be He—regarding the Christians:
“Those who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary,’ have certainly disbelieved. Say, ‘Who then could prevent Allah in the least if He willed to destroy the Messiah, son of Mary, his mother, and everyone on earth?’” [Al-Māʾidah: 17].
