Section: If They Do Not Acknowledge His Mission to the Arabs
They may instead refuse to recognize that he was sent to the Arabs—indeed, to anyone at all—and say about him what the Arab idol-worshippers used to say: that he is a poet, a sorcerer, an impostor, a liar, and the like. In that case we say to them:
On this assumption your proof is likewise invalid, and it is impermissible for you—while denying Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)—to cite anything from the words of the prophets before him, whether you affirm Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in everything he says, affirm him in part, or reject him altogether. In every instance your argument is void, and therefore your religion collapses under every possible scenario. Whatever is shown to be false in every scenario is in fact false in and of itself; thus it stands established that it is intrinsically false.
For once you declare Muhammad a liar, no path remains by which you can know the truthfulness of any other prophet. Denying him renders it impossible to affirm the veracity of anyone else. Indeed, whoever deems him a liar yet confirms another prophet’s truthfulness does not actually know that prophet to be true; he is merely giving credence without knowledge. And one who lacks knowledge of their veracity has no right whatsoever to use their statements as evidence; he is speaking without knowledge and disputing matters of which he is ignorant.
The proofs attesting to the truthfulness of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) are greater and more numerous than those attesting to the truthfulness of Moses and Jesus; his miracles surpass the miracles of the other prophets; the Book with which he was sent is nobler than the book given to any other; and the law he brought
